I’ve spent most of my career in environments where things either work or they don’t. Kitchens were the first version of that, eventually running them as an Executive Chef, where I was responsible for people, prep, timing, inventory, and forecasting.

Moving into systems work wasn’t a shift as much as a continuation. The same logic applies. Inputs, outputs, timing, dependencies. I now work across systems, art, and physical making, but it all comes from the same place. Figure out what’s happening, fix the flow, and build it so it holds up.
